Right before the end of the school year, we had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful group of art teachers from the City of New Rochelle School District. The tour was initiated by The New Rochelle Fund for Excellence, an organization Charles Fazzino hopes to be much more involved with in the near future. The Fund is an organization that raises money to give teachers grants and enrich programming in the schools. Ancillary to its mission, the fund also runs the Museum of Art and Culture which resides within New Rochelle High School. All of the Fund’s initiatives are design to promote and support art education initiatives… something we wholeheartedly support.

Inside the Studio

In the words of Laura, one of the tour organizers:

“I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful tour of the studio and the gallery on Monday. It was by far the best event as art teachers that we have ever attended. Your love of your work and dedication shined throughout the tour! I loved seeing the process from start to finish and watching the assistants meticulously glue things into place. It was just so amazing. As an artist and an art teacher, I was truly inspired as was the entire group of New Rochelle School District art teachers. Meeting Charles Fazzino in person and hearing his stories of how his art evolved was great as well. I loved every minute of it.

Rave reviews from everyone including my 92-year old mother who I brought with me because she never fails to admire Charles’s work displayed in gallery windows in Manhattan. She loved the tour and can’t stop telling people how fabulous it was. Thank you once again for ending our school year on such a positive note and the wonderful possibilities of working with you in the coming school year.”

Well, Laura… we are thrilled that we ended your school year on such an upbeat note. Likewise, it was energizing meeting such a group of enthusiastic educators… educators who understand the value of creativity and the importance of teaching our kids to be innovative and thoughtful in their approach to life. The kudos go to all of you for your dedication and your commitment to helping our kids grow into the resourceful, visionary, and astute adults they will need to be in order to lead our world into the future!
