Charles Fazzino recently had the pleasure of having his works exhibited at The Visual Arts Gallery at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi alongside those of world-renowned Israeli artist David Gerstein. While Charles and David have known each other for many years, this was the first major exhibition featuring both artists’ works and it proved what we’ve all known all along… Gerstein and Fazzino go great together!
“I have admired David’s work for many, many years,” said Fazzino. “He’s an innovator in his field… so creative… and so passionate about his art. I love his use of texture, composition, and color and his technique of transforming everyday objects into something exciting and moving is unprecedented.”
Gerstein is most famous for his metal wall and free-standing sculptures but has also dabbled in paper sculpture, painting, drawing, and photography. His works are sought after all over the world and he has participated in hundreds of exhibitions throughout Europe, the US, and Asia. His commission work includes a collection of spectacular outdoor installations in places as far and wide as Thailand, Singapore, and Israel. His themes reflect an open mind and an innocence that infuses his fascination with everyday life. Cows, butterflies, bicyclists, and beautifully crafted brush strokes are some of his most well-known icons. His love of Jazz comes through in many of his compositions, as does his appreciation for the simple things in life… like a good cup of coffee and a beautiful face.
With a flurry of activity, color, and movement, David Gerstein succeeds in taking the everyday objects around him and transforming them into his own optimistic, somewhat frenetic, but always vibrant world.
