The Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital & Fazzino Legacy Project
We are so proud to announce that Charles Fazzino and Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center have formed a new partnership to utilize art to benefit the hospital, celebrate it’s legacy, and enhance patient care. The relationship will be formally announced at the Hospital’s Annual Wines of the World fundraising event on Thursday, November 6th with the unveiling of the first “Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital/Fazzino Legacy Project.” The Legacy Project will be ongoing and will involve the Fazzino team providing the hospital’s art therapy program with a mural-sized piece of line art from the Fazzino collection. Children admitted to the hospital will have the opportunity to work with Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital’s licensed creative arts therapis to complete the artwork together. “The Children’s Hospital’s art therapy program is a model program,” said Charles Fazzino. “Time and time again, I have seen the power of art….to educate, to foster growth, and most importantly, to heal. The patients that come into this hospital come with some of the gravest illnesses there are. Through art, we can give them an outlet….a way to express to the world what they are experience and even better, maybe we can take their minds off of it for a little while.”
Celebrating the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital’s 10th “Birthday”
In addition to The Legacy Project, Fazzino has created an artwork to celebrate the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital’s 10th “birthday”. Touted to be one of the top children’s hospitals in the country when it was built, it has certainly lived up to its reputation. Providing state-of-the-art care, along with a compassionate environment, Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center goes above and beyond to care for the children who come through the doors. “I’m proud to help the hospital celebrate its 10th birthday,” said Charles Fazzino. “I remember when the funds were being raised to build it. I don’t think anyone predicted the impact it would have on our area. We’re proud and thankful to have a facility of this caliber right in our backyard.”
The Legacy Project will be unveiled at the Wines of the World event, but will be actually started live in the hospital lobby during the annual 100.7 WHUD Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon on November 12th. Fazzino will be on hand to work with kids and staff members as they start to color in the project. Come join us if you’re in the area, listen to the Radiothon, and consider donating to help keep Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at the top of its game. It’s important….for all of us
