Today was the first day of the MLB All-Star Game Fanfest in Phoenix, AZ. It’s been a busy week already. On Tuesday, we were at the MLB Fancave to unveil the piece i’d been working on all month-long. Mike O’hara unveiled it with me and we ended up with some fabulous players contributing – including Bernie Williams and Gaylord Perry….and the entire reliever core from the Cleveland Indians. The artwork will be auctioned off at mlb.com beginning next week and the proceeds will benefit MLB’s RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) program. Whoever gets the work is going to be getting something very special. It’s definitely a one-of-a-kind.

Yesterday, i spent some time having fun on set at the local tv stations – 3TV and FOX 10.  And later today, i’m scheduled to appear on 12 News (NBC). Earlier today, i paid my annual visit to Tara Gore on the mlb.com stage here at Fanfest. She wore my helmet (it’s a tradition) and we had a good time talking baseball and art. MLB.com correspondent and former MLB pitcher Jeff Nelson came by our booth to visit also.

I’m particularly excited about my display at FanFest this year. I did some new pieces including a New York Yankee Diorama, an oversized hand-painted baseball and a Derek Jeter-themed authentic brick from Monument Park at the old Yankee Stadium…oh, and an actual seatback from the old Yankee Stadium too…..i’ll post more pics as we get farther into it but if you’re in the area, stop by and say HELLO!
