For over 100 years, the Osthaus Museum in Hagen, Germany, has exhibited spectacular contemporary artwork from artists of current and late. In February 2024, the museum held a tribute exhibition for the late UK pop artist Joe Tilson. Art by acclaimed pop artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Tom Wesselmann were featured alongside Tilson’s legendary catalog. Included in this prestigious exhibition were several works by 3D pop artist Charles Fazzino.

From February through March 3rd, highly praised Fazzino works such as One World… The Circle of Life and Historically… Our American Flag were prominently showcased. Fazzino appeared at the museum for an exclusive reception and Q&A panel on February 29th. Collectors and art enthusiasts attended the reception with awe and admiration for some of the most renowned pieces in pop art history.

“While it’s somber seeing my contemporaries go, it’s heartening to see them recognized and praised. As artists, we dream of having our craft impact others. Being shown recognition and respect for our passion in the way museums like Osthaus do is one of the final steps in assuring ourselves and those who love us that we have achieved our dream. Joe Tilson was a phenomenal artist and has secured his legacy in the art world. As a fellow artist, I am proud of what he has accomplished, and I am honored to have my work recognized alongside his. ” -Charles Fazzino

Joe Tilson

In November 2023, the art world lost a beloved visionary, Joe Tilson. He was one of the leading figures in the British Pop Art movement during the 1960s, producing iconic wooden reliefs, constructions, prints, and paintings. Later in his career, he diversified his creation methods by introducing a wide variety of materials, including stone, straw, and rope, while drawing on the motifs of pre-Classical mythology. His work was exhibited regularly in solo shows and galleries around the world.

If you missed the opportunity to catch the exhibit in Germany, not to worry! Fazzino’s artwork can be seen at various galleries globally. Check out the events page for the most current tour dates and sign-up for the collector’s club to stay informed of upcoming shows and new releases.
