I’m hard at work in the studio this week finishing up helmets and paintings (make sure you click on the pictures below!), and framing prints for Super Bowl week festivities in Dallas. It’s my eleventh Super Bowl and i’m as excited about it as ever. We are doing some very cool events this year and i’m working with some great people. Here’s the roundup of where i will be when:
Tuesday, February 1st – I”m honored to have been invited by the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau to help the city kick of it’s Super Bowl week festivities. In the morning, I’ll be leading a Youth Outreach Master Art Class with a group of students from the Arlington Independent School District. And later that evening, I will be joined by the Mayor of Arlington, Dr. Robert Cluck, at a private reception and unveiling at the Arlington Museum of Art. Hopefully, through the sale of some of the artwork, we can raise funds for both the Museum and the Arlington ISD’s Ron Durham Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Thursday, February 3rd – We’re having a party at the Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop! And you’re invited! I’ll be at the Shop in the Galleria Mall on Thursday from 4pm – 7pm to sign artwork, books, posters…and just about anything. I’m honored that the Cowboys own Pro Shop will also have on display my entire Super Bowl art collection from the last eleven years. Miss Dallas, Candice Bennatt, is going to join me there and we’re going to have a blast. Hope you can make it if you’re in town!
NFL Experience – As always, there will be a large display of all of my footbal and Super Bowl artwork on display at the NFL Experience which this year, will be at the Dallas Convention Center. We’ll have an incredible collection of hand-painted helmets, 3-D prints and originals, posters, mini-prints, and who knows what else! 🙂 The Experience opens on Thursday, January 27th. I plan to be there for a few hours on each day from Wednesday, February 2nd through Saturday, February 5th. I hope to see you there!
Saturday, February 5th – The Taste of the NFL has always been one of my favorite Super Bowl week events…and this year will certainly be no exception! PLUS, it’s the 20th Anniversary of this incredible “Party with a Purpose” and i’ve created a commemorative 20th Anniversary Hand-Painted Helmet (you can see a picture of it below) for the auction. If you’ve never been the the Taste, this is the year to go. It’s a food and wine tasting extravaganza!! You get to meet celebrity chefs, sample their dishes, and rub elbows with NFL Stars – all to benefit hunger relief organizations throughout the country.
