Our good friend John Wright recently shared with us his collection of historical drawings. As the Director of the Thomas Paine Cottage and Museum in New Rochelle, John has continued to cultivate his love for history. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Parsons School of Design/New School of Social Research and he is often sought after by museums all over the country for his incredibly detailed and accurate historical illustrations and dioramas. His most recent work is shown below, an impeccably accurate rendering of Washington’s attack on Trenton in 1776. John painstakingly included every house and building that existed at that time.
“John’s art is just beautiful,” said Charles Fazzino. “His eye for detail and his dedication to the accuracy of his depictions is remarkable. His line is so crisp and through color, he really brings an air of accuracy to his work. The historical characters just come to life in his drawings!”
